Practice examples

ATI/HESI-style conversion Convert 1.2 L to mL. 1 L = 1,000 mL. 1.2 × 1,000 = 1,200 mL.

Answer: 1,200 mL.

Tablet calculation Ordered: 375 mg. Available: 125 mg tablets. How many tablets? 375 ÷ 125 = 3 tablets.

Answer: 3 tablets.

Liquid calculation Ordered: 45 mg. Available: 15 mg per 5 mL. How many mL? 45 ÷ 15 = 3. 3 × 5 mL = 15 mL.

Answer: 15 mL.
